Ukrainian conflict: Russian sites hacked

Anonymous attacks space agency and press agencies

Anonymous attacked the website of the control center of the Russian space agency Roscosmos in these hours, making it unreachable, as well as the web portal of the press agency "Ria Novosti" that is blocked since the early hours of this morning.

The attack against the Roscosmos website was claimed by the hacker group NB65, affiliated to the international activist collective Anonymous. The authors of the cyber attack claim that Russia at this time no longer has full control over its spy satellites. Meanwhile, the Russian space agency is recalling dozens of engineers and technicians from the Kourou spaceport in French Guyana. It is also suspending Soyuz missions, slowing the launch of the Galileo system satellites, whose next launch was scheduled for April 5th.

The Anonymous group reported that in 72 hours, the "OpRussia" cyberwarfare campaign took down some 1,500 websites based in Russia and Belarus. Among them are various state media, trading sites, banks and companies of various kinds.
