Russia announced the opening and securing of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians from Ukraine in these hours. The routes are directed to border towns located in Russia and Belarus and are manned by the Russian armed forces that will continuously monitor the evacuation with the use of drones. However, the bulk of the flow of fleeing civilians mainly involves Poland and Romania, as well as Moldova, Hungary and Slovakia. 

"Today, as of 10 am Moscow time (8 am in Italy), a cease-fire has been declared and six humanitarian corridors have opened: one from Kiev to Gomel; two from Mariupol to Zaporozhye and Rostov-on-Don; one from Kharkov to Belgorod; two from Sumy to Belgorod and to Poltava", Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenk told the Russian news agency "Ria Novosti".

The military reported that it has provided detailed information on humanitarian corridors to its Ukrainian counterpart, as well as to the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
