Ukrainian conflict: Moscow against arms in Kiev

Kremlin warning: countries close to Ukraine do not host warplanes

The Russian government has threatened Ukraine's neighboring countries by intimating them not to host Kiev's military planes that would seek refuge on their territory. While not naming it directly, the Kremlin is alluding to Romania, a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) where Rome had announced the doubling of our deployed air forces.

"The use of the airport network of these countries as a base for Ukrainian military aircraft and their subsequent use against the Russian armed forces could be considered as an involvement of these states in an armed conflict", said the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov communicates.

Meanwhile, Poland returns to deny rumors that it could provide military aircraft to Ukraine by obtaining aircraft from the United States in exchange. Warsaw "will not send its jets to Ukraine or allow it the use of its airports. We help significantly in many other areas", they say from the government.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki added: "We will do everything to end Russian aggression against Ukraine. The answer must be to strengthen transatlantic security, but especially NATO's eastern flank".
