United States: more laser attacks on aircraft

FAA investigates four incidents near Seattle-Tacoma airport

The scourge of laser attacks on aircraft continues to plague the United States and shows no sign of stopping. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched new investigations after numerous crews reported being hit by laser beams near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Officials determined that the events occurred Monday between 8:21 pm and 10:52 pm. This is what emerges from the reports received from the crews of four Alaska Airlines flights operated with B-737 aircraft: flights number 64, 1406, 754 and 1480.

The FAA agency is investigating these incidents jointly with local law enforcement. So far in 2022 at least 44 crews have reported being hit by lasers near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
