Ukrainian war: shower of bombs in the night

Air raid sirens sound in several cities, but Russians loosen grip on capital Kiev

The peace negotiations in Turkey do not stop the shower of bombs that has been falling on Ukrainian cities for over a month. Among them Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Lysychansk and Poltava. Tonight several explosions have been heard in the hinterland of Kiev, but the capital has not been affected: this was confirmed by the deputy mayor, Mykola Povoroznyk, who reports having heard "the sound of sirens and gunshots.

''Ukrainians are not naive and will continue military operations despite Russia's promises to significantly reduce its activities on the ground. Of course, we see no reason to trust the words of some representatives of a state that continues to fight for our destruction. Ukrainians already learned, in the last eight years from the Donbass war, that one can trust only a concrete result'', that is if ''the facts change on our land'', Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in recent hours.

Meanwhile, from Kiev they make know that it has been arranged the opening of three humanitarian corridors to evacuate the civilians from the besieged cities: among these just Mariupol, in the south of Ukraine, where the Russian attacks have been concentrated in the last weeks.
