Hacked Russian aviation agency website
Rosaviatsia portal unreachable for days: 65 Terabytes of data at risk

The Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport, Rosaviatsia, has been victim of an IT attack. The event dates back to last Saturday and explains why the website Favt.ru has been unreachable for several days. According to some indiscretions the institution has lost up to 65 Terabytes of data, including emails, files and back-ups.
This is what emerges from journalistic sources, which cite a statement by the director of Rosaviatsia, Alexander Neradko: "Due to the temporary lack of internet access and a malfunction in the electronic system of document management, the Federal Agency for Air Transport is switching to the paper version".
Russian business newspaper "Kommersant" confirm the probable cyber attack, citing independent sources close to Rosaviatsia. The agency, the journalists report, expects to soon restore full access to its data archive in the coming hours.
