ITA Airways: six managers resign

After budget approval; second phase of airline development begins

The board of directors of the national airline ITA Airways has lost six directors out of a total of nine. The managers resigned yesterday, at the end of a board meeting in which the board approved the financial statements, thus marking the end of the first start-up phase of the airline.

These are the names of the managers who resigned: the former Minister for Civil Service Angelo Piazza, the accountant Lelio Fornabaio, the former senator Simonetta Giordani, the lawyers Silvio Martuccelli, Alessandra Fratini and the former liquidator of Air Italy Cristina Girelli.

This is learned from sources close to the dossier; they explain that the resignations are not related to the expenses for the advisors. Rather, the reason would be that from today the company enters a second phase in which it needs a leaner system, which must be managed by the company in a faster way. The objective, in fact, as stressed several times in recent weeks, is to start the privatization procedure of the airline.
