Aircraft and transport. General strike in Italy on Friday April 22

A 24 hour protest, guaranteed minimum services

At the start tomorrow, Friday, April 22, the general strike of 24 hours throughout Italy will involve the public and private sectors: from transport to school. The mobilization was called by the union Cobas and is supported by various acronyms of workers' representatives. Meanwhile, the Unione sindacale di base (Usb) has promoted a demonstration to be held at 2:00pm in Rome, in Piazza della Repubblica to protest against the working conditions in the production, logistics, transport, distribution and marketing of goods.

Among the sectors most affected ther is transportation: planes will stop from 00:01am to 11:59pm on Friday April 22, trains from 00:01am to 9:00pm but without changes to the circulation of long-distance trains, maritime transport to and from the major and minor islands for 24 hours. With regard to highways, drivers will cross their arms from 10:00pm on Thursday, April 21 to the same time the next day. Guaranteed as always the minimum essential services to protect consumers: from the protected bands for commuters (6:00am-9:00am and 6:00pm-9:00pm) to health services not deferrable. 

The strike is also joined by some workers (teaching staff and Ata) of public schools for the days of Friday 22 and Saturday, April 23, 2022. The general mobilization is supported by several other unions: Federation of Workers Drivers (Fao-Cobas), Organized Metalworkers (Lmo), General Class Union (Sgc), Slaiprolcobas and Self-Organized Workers Union (Soa).
