Europe: 500,000 travel vouchers refunded
The communication from 16 air carriers to the European Commission

Sixteen European air carriers have reported that they have economically refunded more than 500,000 travel vouchers issued to their customers. These are the well-known vouchers that airlines had given to passengers after tens of thousands of airline connections were canceled during the pandemic period, particularly during lockdowns.
This is what the airlines' top executives informed the European Commission and national consumer rights authorities in recent hours. The companies let it be known that they have contacted more than 2.5 million travelers with unused vouchers. Of these, more than 500,000 have opted for financial reimbursement.
