FAA GIVES AMERICA WEST A DEADLINE

WASHINGTON, The Federal Aviation Administration said the U.S. carrier has until early next year to implement an upgrading plan of maintenance and safety programs. The authority wants to be sure the carrier to carry on its proposed reforms. The airline said it had already begun upgrading its record-keeping and surveillance programs.
