NASA: a supersonic roar reduction system is being tested

Washington, USA - The "Quite Spike" is tweaked with Gulfstream

An F-15B by NASA is the testing aircraft for a technology that reduces roars produced by supersonic planes. A "Nose" has been installed in the jet, being able to extend up to seven meters, tweaked by Gulfstream Aerospace with NASA Dryden research centre and named "Quiet Spike Technology". In normal supersonic aircraft, the blast waves generated by airplanes getting close to Mach 1 (the speed of sound)...
