ALITALIA ORDERS GE ENGINES FOR 200M USD

ROME, Italian national airline placed an order to General Electric, valued over 200m USD, for boosting five Boeing 747 already ordered. Other three units received an option. The engines are CF6-80C2s, considered by GE among the most secure and reliable engines ever produced in that category, they are being manufactured since 1995.
