SINGAPORE AIRLINES ORDERS 20 BOEING 777-200

SINGAPORE, Singapore Airlines (SIA) ordered 20 Boeing 777-200 passenger aircraft (10 with an option to buy 10 more) in a deal worth $4 billion. The new planes will arrive between 2003 and 2009 and replace its existing fleet of A310-300 aircraft made by Europe's Airbus: they will be used mainly on regional routes, but, if necessary, are also suited for longer routes.
