First satellite-guided flight of a Predator between two Italian bases

Cagliari, Italy - On August 3 the UAV will take off from Amendola (Foggia) and will land in Decimomannu (Cagliari)

For the first time an Italian Air Force UAV (Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle) will fly between two bases guided through a satellite link. On August 3 the Predator A will take off from Amendola (Foggia), base of the 32th Wing, to land at Decimomannu Air Base (Cagliari). The operation, dubbed "Shardan 2009", will end on August 7.
