Switzerland says "No" to the new Gripen E combat aircraft

Swiss citizens have rejected their government's plan to buy 22 Saab Gripen E combat aircraft in a referendum, despite its previous approval by the parliament. The "No" vote majority (53%) will prevent the refurbishment of the air force's fleet through the substitution of the elder F-5 Tiger (produced by Northrop) currently in use. Swiss government planned to create a fund of 2.5 billion Euros...
