Aircraft and helicopters. Pentagon: no change in the Japan deployment of the "Osprey"
Okinawa, Japan - Strong opposition in the Japanese land, following the recent incident in the Hawaiian Islands
The latest incident took place on May 17, 2015 near the Bellows air base, Hawaii, fueled once again the controversy in Japan over the US intention to deploy a special operations team made by CV-22 "Osprey" in Yokota, east of Tokyo. The tilt-rotor combines the features of a long-range helicopter (vertical takeoff, hover and vertical landing), with the fuel efficency and speed typical of turboprops.
