Bahrain relies on Thales-SITA supply for security systems at Al Muharraq Airport
Manama, Bahrein - In the context of the modernisation and expansion four year project launched in 2015
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) assigned to Thales and Sita supply of security systems and operations management for the Al Muharraq international airport according to a four year project in the context of an important expansion and modernitation program, launched in 2015 with the aim to make the airport one of the most important regional hubs for the tourism and for services.
The program predicts the construction of a new passenger terminal and the expansion and renewal of the existing terminal. With a growing passenger flow, airport authorities face two challenges: enhancing the security and safety of all the stakeholders, and making the airport operations more manageable and more efficient.
The system provided by Thales will be embedded with all the cutting-edge technologies needed for airport management such as smart video-protection, access control and biometrics, IT and telecommunication infrastructures. The operators will rely on decision support tools and procedures to enable for a better and faster response time in case of emergency. The system will also allow operators to monitor airport performances.
