France and Germany will develop together new military airplane

Paris, France - In a bilateral meeting the two Countries set a cooperation framework that concerns other defence systems too

In a bilateral meeting that took place on Thursday in Paris the representatives of Germany and France shaped a cooperation program to renew their systems of defence. In the general framework of a long-term collaboration there is the development af a new combat airplane according a schedule that should be set by the mid of next year. The aircraft should in the future replace Eurofighters and Rafales in the fleet of Germany and France, in this way allowing the two Countries to share reasearch and development costs, the use and also to coordinate exports, as it was noted by the French President Emmanuel Macron who was present at the meeting together with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The final document of the talks according to press also concerns the supply of tanks, of artillery, and the intention to define a cooperation framework for other defence assets.
