A 1.1 billion dollars project for the Pittsburg airport
Pittsburgh, USA - It provides for building a new landside operations facility and the modernization of existing infrastructures
The project for modernizing the Pittsburgh International Airport (USA) was presented yesterday to the public, an infrastructural development plan that provides for a new landside area -with the construction of a terminal that will replace the existing one- and new infrastructures for airport operations, as the management of international arrivals and baggage handling. Christina Cassotis, CEO of the Allegheny County Airport Authorithy that controls the airport, underlined how the projects is aimed to improve the efficiency and security of the airport, answering the modern needs of airlines, passengers and of the industry. The investment plan foresees an investment of about 1.1 billion dollars -cost that will be updated as design reaches the final stage- with construction that should begin in 2019. The delivery of the new facilities is expected by 2023.
