Rome, Italy - The Italian Minister Calenda said to a newspaper, the goal is to close before the elections

For Alitalia there are three offers to be evaluated and from January exclusive negotiations might start with the best tenderer for the sale of the Italian airline: it was repeated by the Italian Minister for Economic Development Carlo Calenda in an interview that was published today on the newspaper "Il Sole 24 Ore" in which are also discussed the issues of the Ilva iron industry in Taranto (Italy) and of the energy market. About Alitalia Calenda confirmed that his and Minister's for Infrastructure and Transport Graziano Delrio goal is to reach a conclusion of the matter before next elections. The Vice-President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and candidate as Prime Minister of Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S) Luigi Di Maio talked about this possibility in recent days at the a convention on air transport, answering a question from AVIONEWS on the eventuality of a sale of Alitalia to Lufthansa: according to Di Maio the "Government is not entitled" to go on with the plan of the German carrier, the same position of Paolo Nicolò Romano (M5S) who said that this Government "is now expired, on December 27 the Chambers will be dissolved, therefore it is not at all entitled to carry out such an important agreement, it is necessary to wait for the elections".
