Meridiana: aircraft and job in the new business plan

Indiscretions made today by the ambassador of Qatar visiting Sardinia

Meridiana will be the first Italian airline to have the B-737 MAX plane of the American Boeing in its fleet, and soon it will welcome in its fleet -destined to intercontinental connections from Milan to Miami and New York- also the remaining A-330/200 of the European Airbus coming from Qatar Airways, that will receive a cockpit upgrade and an advanced Wi-Fi system. These advances on the new business plan that will see its official presentation next Monday in Milan had already been made by the management of the carrier in the last period.

Today, however, new elements on the plan come from Abdulaziz Bin Ahmed Al Malki Al Juhani, extraordinary ambassador and plenipotentiary of Qatar on a visit to Gallura, in Sardinia: "All Meridiana fleet will be replaced with new aircraft and with a high quality service" result of Qatar's investments that the high diplomat defines -without any reference to Italian politics- "investments with 5-star brand" both for the "Mater Olbia" hospital to be opened soon, and for Meridiana (of which on September 28, 2017 Qatar Airways has officially recognized 49% by Aqa Holding, a new company created specifically for the new management of Meridiana by Alisarda and Qatar Airways).

The "star" investment according to Al Malki will ensure over 1500 jobs. In the forecasts also new connections between Milan-Malpensa and Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania and Lamezia Terme.

"The State of Qatar has invested in Costa Smeralda and has also signed the agreement for Meridiana. In this context I would like to thank my friend Delrio -Minister of Transport and Infrastructures, Ed notice- because in these years we have worked hard together for the agreement between Qatar Airways and Meridiana", the ambassador underlined it.
