Wizz Air: operational growth in 17 weeks

21 aircraft allocations, 4 new destinations

700 additional weekly departures, 70 new routes launched

Wizz Air today starts the biggest operational ramp-up across its network in its history. In the upcoming 17 weeks a total of 21 aircraft will be allocated to its European bases, supporting 700 additional weekly departures and the commencement of 70 new services. Four brand new destinations -Athens, Tallinn, Kharkiv, Vienna- will be inaugurated by mid-July, along with the opening of a new Western European base in the Austrian capital.  The expansion of the airline in 2018 represents an investment of more than $ 2 billion at 11 bases in the UK, Austria, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania and Georgia.

The carrier begins its 2018 expansion in Budapest this week, with the arrival of an additional new A-320, which will be the 11 aircraft based in Hungarian capital, coinciding with the launch of a new route to Stavanger in Norway.
