Embraer KC-390 aircraft makes its debut at "Fidae 2018" (3)
The A-29 Super Tucano also showcased at the event
Embraer at the "Fidae 2018" – Feria Internacional del Aire y del Espacio, in Santiago, Chile, from April 3-8, where it showcases its new multi-mission, medium-lift transport KC-390.
Seen as the advanced and modern option to replace legacy medium-lift aircraft, the KC-390 is designed to set new standards in its category, while presenting the lowest life-cycle cost in the market and the ability to perform multiple missions (transport and airdrop of troops and cargo, search and rescue-SAR-, medical evacuation, aerial refueling-fixed and rotary wing- and firefighting).
The industry achieved KC-390´s initial operational capability declaration (IOC) in December, 2017 and expects to receive the certification of the final operational capability (FOC) in the second half of 2018. First delivery is scheduled to happen in 2018. The flight test campaign of the airplane is progressing extremely well, with more than 1.600 flight hours accumulated by late March.
Also being showcased at "Fidae" is the A-29 Super Tucano, the light attack and close air support aircraft in the market. It is a durable, versatile and powerful turboprop aircraft capable of operating from unimproved runways that was selected by 14 Air Forces around the world, including the US Air Force, that has selected the airplane for its Light Air Support program.
