First AW-109 Trekker helicopter on the Chilean market

Deliveries planned by early 2019

Leonardo announced in the last days the delivery of two additional civil helicopters to Chilean private operators by early 2019, adding to a fleet of more than 20 units currently in service in the Country. Object will be a AW-119Kx single engine with Vip configuration, delivery planned in the fourth quarter of this year, and the new AW-109 Trekker light twin for the Chilean market in utility configuration, in service expected in 1Q2019. The Trekker maintains the typical features of the AW-109 Grand but compared to this it offers greater payload; the helicopter meets the Chilean stringent requirements in terms of capabilities in particular environmental conditions, expecially at high altitude.

Types of Leonardo's helicopters present in Chile today include the AW-119, AW-109, AW-139 and W-3A Sokol models used in VIP/corporate transport, firefighting, law enforcement and utility tasks. With over 400 aircraft operated today in Latin America, Leonardo is one of the major players in the rotary wing sector in the region.
