Montenegro: infrastructure investments for EUR 790m

Priority projects for airports, roads and railways

The Government of Montenegro has identified six priority projects in the infrastructure sector to be implemented as soon as possible. These ones concern the construction of the ringroad around Budva and Tivat, on the coast (from EUR 75 to 140m), of the bridge in the Verige locality (124 million), reconstruction of the railway from Bar to Vrbnica on the border with Serbia (40 million), construction of the road section from Scepan Polje to Pluzine (70 million), the Bar-Boljare motorway between Matesevo and Andrijevica (294 million) and the expansion of the Tivat airport (55 million).

The Government intends to finance projects according to the public-private partnership model in order to minimize State investments, both from the budget and using loans from international financial institutions. Since the documentation is not complete yet, neither the best financing model nor the participation rate of private investors has been chosen yet. The Government is also considering granting the infrastructural projects carried out.
