"ILA 2018". JCG: additional H-225 helicopter order

Ten units in the Japanese Coast Guard's fleet

Airbus Helicopters has secured an additional order of one H-225 aircraft from the Japan Coast Guard (JCG), bringing JCG’s H-225 fleet to ten units. JCG currently operates three AS-332s and five H-225s, both from the Super Puma family. With this new order, the customer’s Super Puma fleet will grow to 13 units by March 2021, becoming the largest Super Puma operator in Japan.

The new H-225 will join the rest of the fleet in security enforcement, territorial coastal activities, as well as disaster relief missions in Japan.

The 11-ton-category twin-turbine H-225 is the latest member of Airbus Helicopters’ Super Puma family which accommodates up to 19 passengers.

In Japan alone, a total of 21 units from the Super Puma family are currently flown by civil, parapublic operators and Japan’s Ministry of Defense for various search and rescue missions, off-shore operations, VIP, fire-fighting, and passenger and goods transportation.
