China Southern: Passenger opens plane's emergency door before teke off

"It was too hot"

A passenger on the China Southern CZ3693 flight opened the aircraft's emergency door while the plane was preparing to take off from the Mianyang airport in Sichuan province, China. Departing for Urumqi, the Boeing 737 should have left at 09.55 but managed to take off only at 10:52. The man opened the emergency hatchback triggering the alarm. The emergency procedure was immediately activated and the plane has been blocked on the ground for more than 40 minutes. The passenger said that "it was too hot" and now risks to be forced to spend some days in jail and to pay a fine. In fact, for those who endanger flight safety, serious legal consequences and a criminal trial are foreseen in China.

In 2015 a similar incident occurred: two people opened the doors after a discussion about the delay of the flight.
