Lockheed C-130 Hercules military aircraft crashes in Georgia
Nine occupants died-VIDEO
The United States Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules military aircraft (registration: 65-0968) of the Puerto Rican National Guard crashed yesterday morning around 11:30 am (local time) during a training flight. The crash occurred about two miles from the "Hilton Head" airport of Savannah, near a crossroad on Highway 21 Gulfstream Road in Port Wentworth, Georgia.
Bound for the Davis Monthan military airport in Tucson, Arizona, the aircraft had undergone routine maintenance process in Savannah before heading for the "Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group" (Amarg) at the Davis Monthan Base. All the occupants of the aircraft (nine passengers and crew members) died in the collision.
After the incident, the Georgia Department of Transportation established the closure and the diversion of some roads near the intersection where the terrible accident occurred. At the moment it seems that in the area no car has been involved in the crash.
Below, the video (Twitter) of the moment of the crash recorded from a surveillance camera of a nearby shop.
