Planes. France: flight controllers strike
20% of flights cancelled
As part of a general agitation of public services
The strike by air traffic controllers, who have joined an agitation called by public service unions, has led to the cancellation of 20% of flights today. Already DGAC, the French Directorate-General for Civil Aviation, had asked carriers to reduce their flight schedule to and from Paris-Orly, Lyon and Marseille airports.
Air France -as well as other interested airlines- had advised passengers to check the status of their flight on-line before going to the airport, warning about the possible occurrence of last minute delays and cancellations.
Nine union federations in the field today in the country beyond the Alps, who have invited public employees to go on strike against the policies of the government of President Emmanuel Macron.
