Planes. Expansion of the Nice airport
+4 million passengers a year by 2021
Saca (Société Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur) started the first checks on the modernization plan of Nice airport with the aim of increasing the airport's capacity by an additional 4 million passengers a year by 2021.
Aiming at the goal of 18 million travellers in 2018, the French airport intends to expand Terminal 2 and provides for the investment of 50 million euros for the construction of a luggage claim area, new commercial spaces that will extend for 150 square meters, 20 new check-in counters and the completion of a parking area (for which a call was published in March) capable of hosting six aircraft. The project also includes working on the design of a new modular boarding room that can handle Schengen and extra-Schengen flights separately.
