Alitalia-SAI: Montezemolo, Cassano and Ball under investigation for fraudulent bankruptcy

The three commissioners took a year to report

A few days ago, the Italian Financial Police was in Alitalia's offices to seize computers and documentation related to Alitalia-SAI (Società aerea italiana) by order of the Court of Civitavecchia. Today the news: the three CEOs of Etihad management, Silvano Cassano, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo and Cramer Ball are now investigated for fraudulent bankruptcy.

It is perplexing that, according to the commissioners themselves, only recently they asked the Civitavecchia Public Prosecutor to open an investigation. Also the fact that the three commissioners (Luigi Gubitosi, Enrico Laghi and Stefano Paleari) have done everything they could not to let known the balance sheet data of the previous management is ambiguous. Grosso Pietro, the president of Intesa San Paolo, Alitalia's shareholder and creditor, declared that he is not worried about this investigation for fraudulent bankruptcy.
