Ethiopian Airlines: 100th aircraft in active service
Used for a humanitarian expedition
Ethiopian Airlines received its 100th aircraft, B-787 Dreamliner, last June 6, 2018.
Given the social responsibility commitments, the new aircraft transported medical equipment from the Seattle NGO to the "St. Paulos" Hospital in Addis Ababa. The expedition included surgical stools and other medical supplies for both teaching and patient care.
Over the years, the Ethiopian carrier has invested heavily in the modernization and expansion of its fleet, which is one of the milestones of Vision 2025. It was among the first African airlines and second only to Japan to order the Dreamliner in 2012, and the first carrier on the African continent to inaugurate the A-350XWB in 2016.
