One of the companies of the South African-American entrepreneur Elon Musk, The Boring Company, was awarded the tender organized by the city of Chicago to connect the city with the "O'Hare" international airport in a few minutes. The mayor Emanuel Rahm and Musk announced it yesterday at a press conference.
This is a futuristic technology for superfast transport with the aid of underground low pressure tunnels, inside which will travel electric-powered capsules capable of transporting each of 8 to 16 people at a speed of 240 km/h. Thanks to this system that the company of Musk will build and manage, passengers can reach the airport in just 12 minutes. A result that goes beyond the expectations of the first citizen according to the information given by his office, in fact the aim of the project was to reduce travel time to no more than 20 minutes.
