Poland: Mig-29 aircraft crashes, the pilot died
As a precaution, the fighters of Polish Air Force are grounded
This night a MiG-29 fighter aircraft of the Polish Air Force crashed and it caused the pilot's death. The fighter had taken-off from the Air Base of Malbork when shortly after the take-off fell to the ground exploding on impact; the pilot, despite being ejected, was found dead near the wreck.
"It was a tragic event because a soldier of the Polish Army lost his life -Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of Defense, said it in a press conference- and our thoughts now go to the family and relatives". The causes of the accident aren't known yet, but the Polish aviation investigation commission has already started working to understand the reason. In the meantime, however, the Defense Minister has informed that until the conclusion of the investigations all the Polish MiG-29 will remain for safety at the ground.
