China, first flight for the new UCAV Yaoying II
It can reach medium altitudes with a long autonomy
The Yaoying II drone (UCAV, Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle), produced by Guizhou aircraft industry corporation, capable of flying at medium altitude and with long range (Male, Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance), the last week took its inaugural flight, according to reports from the press agency "Xinhua".
The Yaoying II is described as a drone with excellent ability to hit targets and reconnaissance, built to be sold also on the international market as a rival of the US and those produced in Europe and Israel. The aircraft is 6 meter long and is powered by a rear-mounted propeller engine that pushes it up to 230 km/h; the autonomy is about 16 hours reaching a maximum altitude of 7,500 meters (about 24,500 ft). Moreover, under each wing there is a fixed attack to be able to load the anti-tank AKD-9 missiles, in addition to another attachment point under the fuselage.
