F-35 aircraft: new purchases are coming and the cost should fall

141 planes ordered by the Pentagon

The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin have reached an agreement for the largest supply of F-35 so far made, in fact of this multi-purpose fighter jets were ordered 141 opening the phase of the eleventh lot of purchases.

The total value of the agreement has not been disclosed, but what is certain -as reported by "Defense News"- is that the US defense aerospace industry has decided to make a reduction in the cost of the three variants of the hunt, and the F-35s will cost from around 80 million dollars each year by 2020. A significant reduction in cost is also possible thanks to the increase in the number of aircraft produced -including this US maxi-purchase. Also because in 2017 the prices were 94.6 million dollars for an F-35A, while for the B version the single aircraft cost about 100 million against the peak reached with 121.8 million for the C version- which will be used only by the US Navy.

Thanks to the first operations done with the F-35s -effectively used for their purpose only by Israel- the confidence around the aircraft is increasing, and if the costs will become even more contained for the more modern-and more expensive-hunting of the history of United States could open a new chapter.
