USA: fifth generation airplanes will be soon in Europe
The USAF commander in Europe and Africa told the news
During the week there was a press conference of the commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, general Tod Wolters, in which he announced that the US Air Force (USAF) shortly, after the summer, will send in the European continent some fifth-generation airplanes, to increase support in key anti-Russia.
It isn't the first time that US stealth fighter planes have been sent to the old continent, because already in August 2015 -in the "hottest" phases of the civil war in Ukraine- it was decided by Usaf to send four F-22 Raptors to the air base Mihail Kogalniceanu in Romania, within what was known as the European Security Initiative, now renamed the European Deterrence Initiative. Even the F-35 did a brief period in Europe last May, but only to be able to carry out training in view of their permanent employment since 2021.
With the fact that within three years the F-35 will be permanently dislocated, probably the fifth generation aircraft that will arrive in Europe announced by Wolters will be the F-22, also because this could allow the Raptor pilots to train to situations where speed and ability to make decisions are needed.
