Russia-China: Putin-Xi Jinping meeting tomorrow
Economic and military issues at the center of the talks
The "Vostok-2018" military exercise, which will be the largest organized since 1981 at the time of the Soviet Union, begins today in Russia. 300 thousand Russian Army men involved together with about 3200 Chinese soldiers and an unspecified number of Belarusians and Mongols, will train together with thousands of armored vehicles and about 1000 between planes and helicopters. Activities that will reinforce the eastern relations of Russia especially with China.
To increase relations with Beijing, a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Chinese president Xi Jinping is expected tomorrow -on the sidelines of the fourth Eastern Economy Forum in Vladivostok- to lay the foundations for a renewed and strengthened bond trade between the two countries at a time of increasing tensions with the United States led by Donald Trump, who imposed customs duties on products imported from China.
In addition to the economic aspects, however, the meeting could also be used to open a more in-depth dialogue in the military field and in the defense industry.
