A Boeing B-737/800 aircraft -registration P2-PXE- used by Air Niugini -the Papua New Guinea flag carrier- ended up in the water after the pilot missed the landing at Chuuk Airport in Micronesia by tapping land at a point too advanced of the track due to heavy rain on the Pacific islands, ending its run 145 meters from the coast without any of the 47 people on board suffered serious injuries. A lucky accident, also because while the plane was embarking water, starting to sink the passengers were made to go down through the emergency slides and rescued by small local fishing boats present in the area.
