Air Transat: possible partnership with Thomas Cook carrier
One could create one of the main charter groups in the world
The Canadian charter airline Air Transat is considering the possibility of starting a partnership with the British carrier Thomas Cook, in order to share the flight code. Assumptions that could pave the way for creating one of the world's largest charter transport groups, which would have connections to many destinations. This was revealed by the president of Air Transat Jean-Francois Lemay in an interview, in which he said that the talks are at an early stage and that the real agreement is still far away, even if the two companies are already exchanging planes depending on the season. This will give Thomas Cook the opportunity to transport passengers from Europe to the Caribbean during the Winter, and to Air Transat to take them to Europe during the Summer; a first step towards an union of intentions and an ever closer partnership.
