Lion Air: new accident for a carrier plane

A B-737/900 collided with a pole during taxiing -VIDEO

New incident for a plane of the Lion Air carrier, but fortunately without any loss of life. After the B-737 MAX 8 crashed on October 29 shortly after take-off killing 189 people on board, in this case a B-737/900ER -with PK-LGY registration- collided on the ground with a pole at the Bengkulu Airport during taxiing in the apron. The impact caused a minor damage but the winglet of the left wing was almost detached, forcing the company to delay the connection waiting for the arrival of a substitute aircraft that brought the 143 people to Jakarta. To investigate what caused the collision, an investigation by the airport authority was opened, but this once again demonstrates the lack of security in Indonesian air transport, whether it was a pilot error or if the stake was not adequately signalled and illuminated.
