Soyuz: launch of the vector rocket without difficulty
First manned mission after the October 11th accident -VIDEO
The Soyuz-FG carrier rocket was launched this morning by the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, carrying the three astronauts (the Russian Oleg Kononenko, the Canadian David Saint-Jacques and the American Ann Charlotte McClain) who will "give the change" to those present in the International Space Station (ISS). A successful launch perfectly after the previous October 11th failed due to a problem accused by the launcher at the time of separation between the first and second stage, forcing the two men on board to activate the procedure to return to Earth. The three astronauts started at about 12:35pm Italian and will arrive on the ISS for 6:36pm, allowing the Russian Sergey Prokopiev, the German Alexander Gerst and the American Serena Auñón to re-use the Soyuz MS-11 spacecraft to return to Earth in the next days.
