Croatia: the United States stop the sale of F-16 aircraft
The changes made by Israel would not be suitable
The sale of 12 F-16 fighter aircraft to Croatia by Israel would have been blocked by the Pentagon, having this power not to approve arms sales from third countries. It seems that defense secretary James Mattis and President Donald Trump are opposed to the changes made by Israel to the F-16 but the US embassy in Zagreb has assured -at Croatian journalists- that it is working with Tel Aviv to try to find a solution to the question, so as to allow Croatia to receive its fighters as soon as possible, which will allow the fleet to be modernized and standardized with the NATO countries. Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Defense Minister Damir Krstičević said they were convinced that a compromise will be found, also because it would be absurd for the United States to stop the delivery after having previously authorized Israel to modify and make F-16 compatible. under the supervision of Lockheed Martin.
