Germany: half of the Eurofighter and Tornado aircraft are grounded
Huge problems in the German Armed Forces
A report by the German Parliament about the state of the Armed Forces is very worrying, because Germany would be ready to use less than half of the Eurofighter Typhoon and Panavia Tornada aircraft and none of its six submarines in fleet. A study that raises many doubts about the real German capabilities, corroborating the thesis of those who ask for more allocations from the State budget for the Armed Forces not so much to get to 2% of the GDP requested by NATO, but to allow Germany to be ready for any eventuality.
The Chief of Defense Staff, General Eberhard Zorn, commented the report talking to "RND" specifying how it is "time to adopt a solution faster than 80% compared to the current ones". Also because the plan of reform and renewal wanted by the Minister of Defense Ursula von der Leyen would take a long time to be completed, but the needs are also in the short term mainly because NATO has set the goal of having a force of rapid intervention consisting of 30 land battalions, 30 squadrons of planes and 30 ships ready to deploy within 30 days of alerting.
