Sudan: a Mil Mi-8 helicopter of the UN forces crashes
The causes are unknown, but the killing is excluded -VIDEO
A Mil Mi-8 helicopter -registration UNO 379P- of Ethiopian armed forces used by the UN forces involved in Sudan crashed in Abyei on Saturday, impacting an UN compound by killing 3 of the 23 people on board and wounding 3 critically (in addition to 7 others in a light way). The dynamics of the accident are not clear, and the local armed forces together with those of the UN peacekeeping mission have opened an investigation to ascertain the causes that led the Russian production helicopter to crash to the ground, excluding but it is a problem with the main rotor -because in a video it is possibile to see how it was perfectly functional- both the abatement by the forces of Southern Sudan, which challenge the control of the oil-rich region in Sudan.
