Norwegian Air. "We will ask Boeing for damages"
Decision that does not hide the low-cost financial problems
The main European airline user of the Boeing B-737 MAX 8, or Norwegian Air, could claim damages from the US company since the alleged technical problem will bring many economic losses for the low-cost. This decision was announced by spokesman Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen speaking to "e24.no", where he explained that "the full bill will be sent to Boeing, because Norwegian must not be penalized if a totally new aircraft cannot fly". A choice made by Norwegian Air that does not hide all the concerns of the management on the financial situation of the low-cost, which is following a heavy corporate restructuring plan in order to be able to reduce the losses and return to operating profitably in order not to risk bankruptcy. Furthermore, if no evidence is found on a possible safety hazard in the investigation following the Ethiopian Airlines incident, the decision made by most civil authorities and carriers to ground the B-737 MAX would not be fully justified. Hardly, in that case, there may be compensation for damages from Boeing.
