Trump-Abe meeting: Japan will purchase F-35 aircraft

Announcements also on North-Korean nuclear and space cooperation

Japan is ready to buy 105 new F-35 aircraft, the multi-role fighter model produced by the American defense industry Lockheed Martin. The news was announced by Donald Trump himself, in an official visit in the land of the Rising Sun, during the press-conference with Japanese President Shinzo Abe. The deal is part of the agreements stated to reduce the American trade deficit. As pointed out by Trump, Japan will thus have the largest fleet of F-35 than any other US ally.

Premier Abe declared that two leaders share the same views also regarding the policies to be adopted with North Korea, that tested a new series of short-range missile and other military systems at the beginning of the month. Trump wanted to minimize the behaviour of the North-Korean leader, convinced he's able to persuade Kim-Jong un to give up nuclear power. The collaboration is destined to continue even beyond the defense on the ground. Trump and Abe stated that "the USA and Japan agree on cooperation in space exploration. The two countries will go to the moon and to Mars very soon. From a military point of view, now there is nothing more important than space" .
