Aircraft and transport in Italy: 4-hour strike confirmed for tomorrow, on July 26
The protest by pilots, flight attendants and ground staff
The Italian Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti unions communicate in a note that "All the Italian air transport will run tomorrow from 10am to 2pm for the first general strike in the sector.
Pilots, flight attendants and ground staff of all carriers operating in Italy, airport management, handling and catering companies will refrain from work in support of the request for reform of the sector contained in the platform 'Rimettiamo in movimento il Paese' presented to the Government by Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, to ask for more binding rules in the competition between companies in liberalized systems; more transparency in the provision of contributions to airlines and companies; specific rules against contractual and wage dumping that harms workers; the start of the negotiation for the renewal of the labor collective national contract expired; the structural financing of the sector solidarity fund.
As far as Alitalia is concerned, the hypotheses of 'stew' (cut into more parts) that can be read in the newspapers make not convince us, we need a business plan of real revival for the new Alitalia that guarantees investments and growth.
Among the mobilization initiatives, there will be a protection at Fiumicino airport starting from the beginning of the strike at 10 am.
The Minister of Transports' willing appreciation to launch a discussion table that we have been asking for many months, although belatedly arrived and the results will have to be verified in practice starting from the first meetings already set for the month of September.
Indeed, without concrete results and answers, our mobilization will continue without hesitation", the press release concludes.
