McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II fighter plane crashes in Iran

Save the two pilots

On 4 August 12:30 local time in the Persian Gulf, an Iranian fighter McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II crashed following a technical failure in the south of the Country, but fortunately the two pilots survived. The incident occurred in a place where patrols are frequent but the mission is still unknown. The continuous Western sanctions (see  AVIONEWS) have made difficult the replace of the aircraft fleet. Accident occurred one day after the seizure by the "Guardians of the Iranian Revolution" of an oil tanker near the Island of Farsi.
