RV-7A private plane crashed in Ocracoke (USA)

Fortunately no victims but two wounded

On Monday, August 19, near the airport of Ocracoke Island, in the USA, a private plane, the Van's RV-7A, registration N566WV, get from the "Johnston Regional" airport in Smithfield, crashed and landed about 30 meters from the runway. Fortunately, there were no victims but the pilot Allen Sawyer and a passenger were injured. The cause of the accident has not yet been quite determined.

The Van RV-7 is a two-seat, single-engine, low-wing aircraft, distributed by Van's Aircraft, designed by Richard VanGrunsven: the model replaced the previous RV-6 in 2001, but it has longer wings, more spacious fuel tanks and a bigger rudder to improve the rotation recovery characteristics.
